The alleged assailant in the death of a man whose body was found Wednesday morning in a garage in Box Elder County was taken into custody hours later in Idaho.
Willard police officers and Box Elder County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in Willard about 9 a.m. after friends of the victim and suspect called 911, a county dispatcher said. Law enforcement haven’t released the home’s address.
When officers arrived, they found the body of a man in his mid-20s in a garage, Box Elder County Chief Deputy Dale Ward said. Ward said the victim isn’t a local.
Investigators began looking for another man in his mid-20s as a person of interest in the murder. He was later classified as a suspect and was taken into custody in Idaho, Ward said.
Ward didn’t release the man’s name nor where officers found him in Idaho, pending the ongoing investigation.
Utah State Bureau of Investigation agents were called to the scene about 11:45 a.m. to assist the investigation and process the scene using their 3-D crime scene scanner, the state’s Department of Public Safety announced on Twitter.
