Members of Utah's legal and criminal justice communities participated Wednesday in a noon "Red Mass" at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City.
The Mass, named for the red vestments worn by officiating clergy, dates to the Middle Ages and traditionally invokes the Holy Spirit's aid in dispensing justice.
Bishop Oscar Solis, who oversees Utah’s 300,000-plus Catholics, presided.
